Installation

On friday 8th May, I filmed my installation for my self-initiated project. It revolves around my interpretation and understanding of space.

The installation was an orchestra of 8 different sounds from the kitchen played using a metal music box. The melody for each sound was created from a grid of colours which was created from the original sound (i.e the kettle boiling) and relating the pitch to a colour. I had made the correlation between the colours and sounds near the beginning of my project.

Anyway the sounds were played in the order they were in a real 48 hour time span. This was my interpretation of the space which sounds really weird. Based on everyday sounds which we normally block out I am here celebrating them by playing them through an attractive format, whilst still seeming mechanical and banal.
